THE POOL
I began the day with a bike, swim, bike. After getting up at 6:00 am I looked on google for the nearest lap swim pool. I found the Sonoma Fit Pool located only .8 miles from the hotel.
I through my swim gear in my bag, checked out one of the bicycles at the concierge, and pedaled over to the pool.
I had to purchase a day pass even though I was only using one amenity. I had not swam in a week and was missing the water and the workouts.
I completed 1500 meters.
I was met at the front desk by a delightful woman named Sydney who checked me in and gave me a lay of the land.
After my swim I rode the bike back to the Fairmont Sonoma Valley.
THE SPA
Sometimes, every once and a while you should pamper yourself. I organized a couples spa day at the Fairmont Spa.
Alice and I checked in and were whisked away to our fantastic afternoon of relaxation.
The spa and geothermal pools relax the mind, spirit, and body. Grounds are picturesque and the staff is very friendly.
We both ordered a medium level massage.
Afterward we enjoyed a hot and cold plunge.
The heat was provided by a steam room as well as a salt sauna and a hot Jacuzzi.
The ice was provided by a cold shower and ice buckets dumped over one’s head.
We kept the night off by heading in two different locations.
I attended a sponsor dinner and Alice had dinner at the restaurant.
When was the last time you took your special someone for an afternoon treat?
I must think Arcadia Structured Settlements, and Brad Cantwell for the amazing two extra days in Sonoma Valley.
If you are not able to come to California find out a place where you can go to get away. Sometimes Alice and I just drive up into the mountains, park, and overlook Colorado Springs while we watch a movie in the car.
Just get out and go. You will find the adventure is where your feet are.
Stay tuned for day three.
